Many people who lose a spouse, child, family member, or friend find that there aren’t many people who understand the deep hurt they feel. GriefShare is a program that was developed specifically to help those who are grieving the death of a loved one. It is a friendly and caring group of people who walk alongside one another through one of life’s most profound experiences. No one needs to travel the grief journey alone. GriefShare meets weekly to help individuals face the challenges of the grieving process and enables them to move forward by rebuilding their lives. GriefShare is a Christ-centered program with direction and purpose. It helps individuals learn how to walk through their unique grief journey through the support they receive along the way. GriefShare is a place where hurting people find hope and healing. These sessions are FREE due to the generosity of the ILCS Foundation.

Stephen Ministry

Hear from a former carereceiver above. Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one lay caring ministry offered by Immanuel and other congregations. The Stephen System equips and empowers lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care. They work with people who are hurting or going through a difficult time such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment. Men are paired with men; women with women. Each Stephen Minister comes alongside a hurting person and meets with that person weekly to listen, care, encourage, and pray. For further information or to request a Stephen Minister, email* or call Gretchen Patti (gltpatti@gmail.com or 630.267.0051) or Sue Marvel (630.844.6562). *Please note that email is not strictly confidential and no confidential information should be sent via email.
