Worship Services

Traditional Worship

5:30 PM Saturday Evenings

8:00 AM & 9:30 AM Sunday Mornings

Immanuel's traditional worship services are Christ-centered worship that proclaims God’s truth through the rich heritage of Lutheran liturgy and hymns. This service is designed for you if:

  • You would like to experience a classic style liturgy service and sing traditional hymns

  • You prefer hymns rather than praise songs and organ rather than guitar or keyboard for congregational singing

  • You love the intimacy and reverence of a small sanctuary

  • You enjoy worship enhanced by choir, handbells, orchestral instruments and soloists

Wiggle tamers (activity bags) are available for younger children to keep little hands busy while ears and hearts engage in worship. Nursery services also available (Infant to Kindergarten).

Contemporary Worship

10:45 AM Sunday Morning

Our Contemporary Worship, which takes place in the gym, offers a more contemporary atmosphere. Immanuel's Worship Arts Director, Jimmy O'Connell leads us as we sing a variety of songs - from those that are popular on today's Christian radio stations to yesterday's hits and contemporary hymns. Since this service takes place in the gym, there is plenty of room for kids to be kids, and we welcome all families to join us as we worship our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Communion

According to the command of Christ, we celebrate the Lord's Supper not as a mere meal of remembrance but as a Sacrament by which Jesus himself comes to us. In Holy Communion, our Lord Jesus is truly present as He gives us not only bread and wine but His body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and one another (Matthew 26:26-28). We gather together at Jesus’ table to profess our common faith as one church family (1 Corinthians 10:17).  It is a Means of Grace, given to us as a gift—the communication and sealing of the forgiveness of sins, as the words declare: "Given for you," and: "Shed for you for the remission of sins" (Luke 22:19, 20; Matt. 26:28), and "This cup is the New Testament in My blood" (1 Cor. 11:23).

Members of sister Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations are encouraged to introduce themselves to the pastor and are welcome to commune with us.  If you are not a member of the LCMS or have not yet participated in your first communion, all are welcome to receive a blessing, for the forgiveness of Jesus is still yours. Please indicate this as your intention by crossing your arms over your chest when you approach the pastor.

We ask that participants read our confession regarding Communion on our Statement of Faith. If you are not in fellowship with the teaching of the LCMS, we ask that you refrain from communion until you have had opportunity to speak with one of the pastors about Christ’s bodily presence and the forgiveness of sins given in this meal.
