Kids Ministry

Sunday School

Sunday School is now 9:15 - 10:15 AM.

Sunday School is important. It matters to kids, it helps parents fulfill their mission, and most importantly it matters to God--because Jesus loves kids. The church was never meant to be the exclusive faith teacher of children. Instead, God’s plan was for the two institutions [church and family] to form a partnership. Children need opportunities for discovery, review, and interaction as they study God’s principles. Sunday school meets these needs!

K-5th grade kids follow the Digging Deeper with Kids curriculum. Click here for more details.

Preschoolers will now follow the Sunday Sing & Play format; stay with your preschooler to play, sing, hear a Bible story and make a craft together. This is a fun way to grow in faith together and meet other families. Register Online

Sing & Play

During the school year, Immanuel offers a free, drop-in, parent-toddler program Wednesdays 11:00 – 11:45 AM that is intended for children ages 18 months - preschool. Led by Bobbi Norkus, Sing & Play focuses on discovering new experiences and building skills through play. This class is designed to build on the love between parent and child through interaction and cooperation with each other, with the teacher, and with other children and their parents. The class period is filled with fingerplays, songs, and movement. No registration is required and siblings are always welcome. Questions? Contact the school office at school@immanuelbatavia.org or 630.406.0157.

Third Grade Bible Event

When children are baptized, parents and sponsors promise to place God’s Word into their hands, take them to worship, and provide for further instruction in the Christian faith. We want to partner with parents in this responsibility. Beginning in third grade, children benefit from having their own personal study Bible that provides deeper insights, and challenges them to think more deeply about God, while speaking directly to their hearts. At the beginning of each school year, Immanuel places the Faith Alive Student Bible in the hands of parents, who will then place them in their children’s hands. We then invite each child and a parent to a Bible Explorers Party, where they learn how to get the most out of their Bible. They make their own carrying cover, enjoy some food, and play fun Bible games.
