Home Assistance Fund Donations

As we approach the end of the year, please consider the Immanuel Lutheran Church Home Assistance Fund in your charitable giving plans. The Fund is used extensively during the Christmas season to provide financial assistance to needy families so they can have a joyous Christmas and be able to provide gifts to their children. This Fund is supported completely by donations from church and community members. If you are interested in supporting the Assistance Fund, there are several ways you can donate.

Coat and Winter Gear Drive

Oct 11-25, Bins @Church or School Entrances. It’s that time of year again! The Batavia Mothers’ Club is having their annual Coat and Winter Gear Drive and Immanuel is a donation drop-off location. If you are cleaning out your closets please consider donating your new or gently used winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, and mittens to help our neighbors stay warm this winter. All sizes are needed, baby through adult. Batavia Mothers' Club sorts and distributes donated items to the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet as well as Chip In Batavia who works with our Batavia schools to make sure all of our students are outfitted for winter.

Let the Party Planning Begin

Sun, Oct 29, after 4:00PM Installation Svc @Fellowship Hall. Are you ready to celebrate? The time and date for Pastor Kegley’s installation has been announced. Now it’s time to plan for a reception following the installation. We have a theme.. it will be a late October tailgate party...INSIDE the Fellowship Hall. We are looking for help with advance cooking of brats and hotdogs, set up on Oct 29, take down and clean up and as always...food. Who wants to share their favorite tailgate offerings? We’re looking for what goes well with brats and dogs, sweets and/or beverages. We are also planning a “gift card” shower for the Kegleys to assist with their relocation: Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, local restaurants, Walmart, Target, grocery stores, etc. Sign ups and gift card box will be in the Narthex!

Tuesday Morning Bible Study: Habakkuk

Tuesdays, 9:00 AM @Meeting Room. Join Pastor Chris and friends for a study on Habakkuk. The book of Habakkuk offers us a picture of a prideful people being humbled, while the righteous live by faith in God. It reminds us that while God may seem silent and uninvolved in our world, He always has a plan to deal with evil and always works out justice eventually. The example of the prophet Habakkuk encourages believers to wait on the Lord, expecting that He will indeed work out all things for our good.

Located just off the Narthex in the Family Life Center (aka Gym)! College Care Packages

Submit names by Oct 15 Our Sunday school kids will be doing a servant event for college students! Do you know of a college student who would like a care package? Then please send us their name and address so we can send them one. Please submit all names using the online form no later than October 15th. A donation list will be coming at the end of October. We want our college kids to know how much their Immanuel family loves them!

Sunday School Helpers Needed

Sunday school is back, and it’s been great! Thank you for bringing your kids to hear the good news of Jesus! We are looking for more helpers in our Sunday school classrooms. There is no lesson to plan, just a willingness to help kids in grades K-4 engage in the lesson.
