COVID-19 Action Plan

Visit the Illinois Department of Public Health at dph.illinois.gov

Fri., Mar. 20, 4:40 PM

As you have likely heard, Gov. Pritzker has announced a stay at home order for all of Illinois. Therefore, worship services and online learning will continue online until further notice. We hope to resume onsite worship by Easter, but we will have to wait to see how this situation continues to unfold.

We invite everyone from our Church and School community to join us for our interactive online worship experience each Sunday during the closure. The recordings will be available on our YouTube channel each Sun. at 8 AM. Everyone on our email lists should have received a copy of this weekend's eNews & Notes. This was posted on Realm, the member section at immanuelbatavia.org, and on social media. The weekly worship folder, As We Gather, will be attached to the video post, along with a children's activity flyer. Helpful information on how to make the most of these online worship experiences is attached here.

School families will receive a message from Mrs. Laughlin with information regarding their circumstances.

There is a practical opportunity to help others during this time. We are seeking individuals willing to call a segment of our Immanuel community to check in, share words of encouragement, pray, and learn if there are any needs that we can help fill. If you are interested in helping in this effort, please contact Lori St.Vincent at lstvincent@immanuelbatavia.org.

Tithes and Giving

During this time, we continue to need your support and generosity toward our ministries. Through this cancellation, we will continue to have bills to pay, staff to compensate, and ministry to do. If you haven’t already, please click below to give your tithes and offerings online. Next week Immanuel will be mailing self-addressed envelopes for those who prefer to make their donations by check.

Online Giving

Remember, God is Always With Us!

He is providing everything we need and all of our families are being lifted up in prayer. If you need help, please email Mrs. Laughlin or Mrs. St.Vincent. We have individuals willing to help with childcare, run errands, and pick up needed supplies. We are here to help in any way we can--we are in this together.

Update as of 10:45 AM, Tue., Mar. 17

Due to the change in restrictions and the desire to ensure the health and safety of everyone connected with the Immanuel community, we are closing our campus and moving our worship online. You can join us on our Facebook Live feed at 8 AM for the next two weeks. We will provide an interactive worship experience that allows you and your family to participate.

We hope to reopen our doors for worship Palm Sunday weekend, Apr. 4-5.

This is a rapidly changing situation, so stay tuned for further updates. In the meantime, please join in praying for God's intervention around the world for those affected by the virus and those struggling with the restrictions.

Update as of 4:30 PM, Fri., Mar. 13

We have just received word from the Governor that Illinois schools are to be closed through Mon., Mar. 30. Classes at Immanuel are tentatively scheduled to resume on Tue., Mar. 31, but we will continue to send updates as information is made available.

The campus will be shut down during this time, with the exception of weekend worship services. Midweek Lenten services, small groups, Bible studies, and committee meetings are cancelled until Tue., Mar. 31.

School Families: Please watch for more information regarding e-learning, etc. that will come from the principal prior to Mon., Mar. 16.

Fri., Mar. 13, 1 PM

Due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, limiting numbers of people and ensuring the cleanliness of our spaces are high priorities. The health and welfare of our families and guests is of utmost importance. We continue to monitor information and contingency plans are being developed.

Beginning Sat., Mar. 14., the following public events are cancelled: Sunday School, Sing and Play, Half Lock-In, Easter Egg-Stravaganza, and the Father-Son Night at Chicago Steel.

The Winter Sports Celebration, Preschool Splash, and Confirmation Retreat are being postponed.

Please contact event organizers for details about specific events. Other groups should discuss options with their group leaders.

Thank you for your patience during this rapidly changing situation. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
