So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. (NIV)
Thought for Today
God is the source of all goodness. In fact, God is goodness personified. We were created in God’s image. This means that we were created with the kind of goodness in us that would show all of creation what God is like. Sin smothered that goodness inside us, making the image of God almost unrecognizable. Yet it is not lost completely. We recognize goodness in the world around us because our spirit still recognizes its original shape. When we see goodness our spirit shouts, “Look! There is God in the world!” This is why everyone, Christians and non-Christians alike, know what goodness looks like and desire to see it in the world around them. The Christian, however, acknowledges God as the source of goodness. Keep your eyes open today. How many times can you spot God as He works goodness in the world through the people and things He has created?
Good and gracious God, thank You for the many ways You show me Your love through the goodness of others. Help me to see and acknowledge the goodness You send my way today. Amen.

Quote of the Day
Goodness is about character - integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people. — Dennis Prager
